Prayer
Ojibway Prayer
Oh Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the winds
And whose breath gives life to everyone,
Hear me.
I come to you as one of your many children;
I am weak .... I am small ... I need your wisdom
and your strength.
Let me walk in beauty, and make my eyes ever
behold the red and purple sunsets
Make my hands respect the things you have made.
And make my ears sharp so I may hear your voice.
Make me wise, so that I may understand what you
have taught my people and
The lessons you have hidden in each leaf
and each rock.
I ask for wisdom and strength
Not to be superior to my brothers, but to be able
to fight my greatest enemy, myself.
Make me ever ready to come before you with
clean hands and a straight eye.
So as life fades away as a fading sunset.
My spirit may come to you without shame.

Hi V,
Some exceptonal photographs you've taken on your journeys.
I had a chance to have a look at some of your artwork and read a few of your stories.Wowwww!
You have such remarkable talents in painting, writing and photography!
Hi Stephen:
Thank you but most of the stories on my "official" (www.ericachappuis.com) site are those of others. I do have one or two short ones of my own one that site.
I did think I needed to do something with the hundreds of photos I take each year and what better way than to present them here with a few words. Create a mood and a place, so to speak...
Hi V,
Yes two of the stories I read were yours. My reference was to all of your writing, including the two blogs.
Because there is another author who calls herself "V" whose writing I have extensively illustrated - Vanna Vechian is her public name.
I write far more sporadically. I am much more comfortable in the visual world.
Dear V,
Thank you for your reference to me and my site www.vannavechian.com.
You are being modest and are in fact a great writer too. Menagerie owes at least half of its existence to you, including the nucleus. Not to mention your essayist capacities as evident in the many e-mails we have exchanged.
A great allround artist. Why not?
Love, V
